What can 100 women with $100,000 make happen?
We were thrilled to see Maureen C. Gilmer’s story on Impact 100 appear on the front page of the Sunday, June 7 Indianapolis Star!
Her description of Impact 100 is, “It’s like “Shark Tank,” only for charity. Pitch your great idea to meet a need in the community, and you might win big money — all for the greater good.”
Co-founder Donna Oklak was quoted as saying, “Giving circles are very good models to encourage women to be philanthropists. We believe we can make a bigger difference working together. We want to learn about nonprofits doing good work in our community, and we want to know where our funds go.”
Tonja Eagan, CEO of Social Health Association of Indiana, the winner of last year’s grant, said, “The Impact 100 opportunity really is unique. I’ve been fundraising for 25 years, and there really isn’t any opportunity for an entrepreneurial idea to be funded at this level.”
