  • At-large members also serve on the Board and assist officers and chairs.

What if you’re not ready to join the Board, but you want to get more involved? We invite you to join a committee led by a Board Member.

Here are the most common options for this role. These are not the only options – but these committees offer good opportunities for a full or shared member to be involved with the Board without making the time and monetary commitments of a Board member.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee meets 3+ times per year (usually late summer – early fall) to plan and execute membership recruitment and retention activities. For example, committee members may take the lead on important events, such as Membership Kick-off, Follow-the-Impact, Holiday Party, and New Member Welcome. Committee members may also serve as mentors to new members.

Marketing & Communications Committee

The Marketing & Communications chair convenes this committee as needed, usually 3 times a year. This committee assists the Annual Awards Celebration, Membership, and Fundraising Committees while managing the image and message of Impact 100 through the newsletter, email communications, and the website. The Chair and the committee work closely with the IT Chair.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Chair convenes this committee as needed, usually 3 times a year. The committee is responsible for all fundraising programs supporting the Administrative/Friends account so Impact 100 can operate effectively while granting 100% of member dollars to nonprofits. The committee is also tasked with fundraising to support the Leaders of the Future Scholarship Program and the Annual Awards Celebration.

Annual Awards Celebration Committee

This committee meets on ad hoc basis starting in October and continuing into June. Committee members work on venue selection, event planning, marketing, fundraising, registration, voting, and enumerable other tasks. This is our biggest event of the year, and it takes an active, well-organized committee to pull it off.

Focus Area Committee Co-Chair

Each of our Focus Area Committees has a chair who serves on the Board. In addition, each FAC has one or more co-chairs. Being a co-chair is a very important responsibility. If you would like to serve as an FAC co-chair, you would be put in touch with the Grant Co-Chairs.

What if you have very limited time, but you would like to get more involved – We invite you to volunteer for a single event or activity.

Here are examples of how volunteers can make our giving circle more successful. These are not the only options. If you have a suggestion for how you could use your time to help us, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteer at a Membership or Other Event

There are good opportunities for volunteering at a membership event. A member (or supporter) of Impact can volunteer to help at a single event – such as set-up and take-down. Another needed role that can be served by a volunteer is photographer or videographer at an event.

Volunteer for the Annual Award Celebration

The Annual Award Celebration always needs volunteers who can support this June event.

What are the next steps? How can you find out more about being a Board member, a committee member, or a volunteer?

If you want to learn more about any of these roles, please email us impact100indy@gmail.com and let us know your interest. If you just want to learn more in general, just say that. We will get back in touch with you.
